Position: Data Analytics Officer Reference: TNH/HRD/DAO/08/2023

Reporting to the Manager of Systems Security, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging big data to revolutionize healthcare quality and patient experiences in alignment with our Strategic Plan (2019-2024). As a Data Analytics Officer, your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Analyzing Patient Healthcare Trends Utilize your strong grasp of data, data structures, and analytical tools to uncover trends, expenditures, and patients’ healthcare needs.

2. Accurate Data Reporting Respond to data requests by discerning user requirements, collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, ultimately providing comprehensive and precise reports.

3. Enhancing Patient Care Gather and interpret data from diverse sources, such as billing claims and patient satisfaction surveys, to elevate care quality, reduce costs, and elevate the overall patient experience.

4. Improving Reporting Efficiency Identify and implement techniques to enhance reporting efficiency within the department, contributing to streamlined operations.

5. Data Integrity and Governance Audit and verify data sources to ensure adherence to data governance and maintenance protocols, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

6. Staying Current in Healthcare Trends Maintain a strong grasp of current healthcare trends, practices, and developments, enabling you to contribute effectively to health initiatives and research.

7. Innovation and Quality Enhancement Recommend innovative strategies to enhance healthcare quality and cost-efficiency, driving continuous improvement.

8. Compliance and Confidentiality Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Confidentiality, and Privacy laws, safeguarding sensitive information.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Health Informatics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Mathematics from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT, preferably in data analytics.

Core Competencies:

  • Proficiency in SQL-Server, including stored procedures, table definitions, and queries.
  • Strong understanding of the Hospital’s claims processing, rules, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) frameworks.
  • Collaborative and stakeholder-oriented, excelling in cross-team projects.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with attention to detail for intricate data requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word for data analysis and presentation.
  • Effective communication of complex data insights both verbally and in writing.
  • Organized multitasker with excellent prioritization skills.
  • High interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, promoting collaboration and inclusivity.
  • Demonstrated creativity, innovation, and proficiency in technology-driven decision-making.
  • Strong professionalism and integrity aligned with the Hospital’s values.
  • Critical and analytical thinking for effective problem-solving.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to hard work, continuous improvement, and goal attainment.
  • Effective customer relationship management skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
