Introduction

Westside Distillers & Vintners, a leading player in Kenya’s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a Data Analyst to join its team. This exciting opportunity is based at the state-of-the-art Nairobi Gate Industrial Park along the Eastern Bypass.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Analyst, you will:

1. Data Collection and Management:
   • Identify, collect, clean, and manage data from diverse sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.
   • Maintain databases and data systems to support business operations.
2. Data Analysis and Reporting:
   • Analyze complex datasets to identify trends and patterns.
   • Develop and maintain sales dashboards and reports to monitor performance and track key metrics.
   • Prepare comprehensive analysis reports to guide stakeholders in making data-driven decisions.
3. Process Optimization and System Improvement:
   • Optimize sales automation tools and the vehicle management system for enhanced efficiency.
   • Propose system modifications and devise robust data governance strategies.
   • Locate and define new opportunities for process improvement.
4. Team Training and Support:
   • Provide regular training and support to sales teams, ensuring effective adoption of sales automation tools.
   • Offer troubleshooting support for systems and tools.
5. Vendor and Fleet Management:
   • Manage vendor relationships related to sales automation tools and fleet services.
   • Oversee vehicle usage analytics to improve resource allocation.
6. Continuous Improvement:
   • Analyze performance trends for ongoing business improvement.
   • Stay updated on the latest data analysis tools and techniques to enhance business processes.

Qualifications and Skills

To be considered for this role, applicants should meet the following criteria:

1. Educational Background:
   • At least a Diploma in Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
   • Advanced IT knowledge is an added advantage.
2. Professional Experience:
   • A minimum of 1 year of experience in data analysis, preferably in an FMCG environment.
3. Technical Skills:
   • Proficiency in PowerBI or Tableau.
   • Strong expertise in MySQL and Excel, with the ability to learn other statistical tools such as SPSS and SAS.
   • Experience with sales force automation software is a significant plus.
4. Analytical Skills:
   • Strong analytical abilities to identify patterns and provide actionable insights.
5. Communication Skills:
   • Excellent writing, presentation, and reporting skills.
