The Council of Legal Education, established under the Legal Education Act, No. 27 of 2012, is vested with vital functions pertaining to legal education and training in Kenya. These include the regulation of legal education, licensing and supervision of legal education providers, administration of the Advocates Training Program (ATP) Examination, recognition and approval of qualifications in law obtained outside Kenya, and provision of advisory services to the government on matters related to legal education and training.
