Key Responsibilities
1. Corporate Communications (50%)
- Develop and Implement Strategies: Collaborate with stakeholders to create effective communications strategies and PR plans targeting our audience.
- Content Management: Write, edit, and distribute content such as publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other marketing materials that communicate the organization’s activities.
- Digital Engagement: Oversee strategic communication to members and ensure regularly updated social media platforms, including news highlights and emails.
- Brand Reputation: Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the EPROK brand and coordinate publicity events as required.
- Crisis Management: Support in managing communications during crises, escalating issues to the CEO, Communications Committee Chair, and/or Board Chair as necessary.
- Analytics and Reporting: Track analytics and create reports detailing the successes and areas for improvement in communications plans and campaigns.
- Relationship Building: Leverage existing and build new relationships to identify marketing opportunities that amplify the EPROK brand.
2. Brand Management (20%)
- Policy Development: Develop and implement the EPROK Brand Policy to ensure consistent messaging.
- Brand Consistency: Define and maintain a consistent brand message, including the brand’s voice and visual identity.
- Performance Metrics: Set brand awareness KPIs to measure the success of branding initiatives.
- Digital Archives: Maintain digital media archives, including photos and videos, and keep records of media coverage with analytics and metrics.
- Database Management: Maintain and update EPROK mailing lists to ensure effective communication.
3. Events Management (10%)
- Event Planning: Develop and manage internal and external corporate and community events in support of the Corporate Giving Strategy.
- Concept Development: Create and implement event plans and concepts that align with organizational goals.
- Marketing Campaigns: Manage effective event marketing campaigns to maximize reach and engagement.
- Logistics Coordination: Ensure seamless event execution by managing logistics such as catering, venue arrangements, and equipment setup.
- Participant Engagement: Mobilize participants, manage registrations, and communicate with attendees regarding updates or changes.
- Post-Event Analysis: Conduct post-event communication, gather feedback, and analyze outcomes to inform future events.
4. Media Relations (10%)
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain effective relationships with national and county media outlets, maintaining an up-to-date media database.
- Media Inquiries: Respond promptly to media inquiries, arranging interviews with relevant EPROK stakeholders, and providing accurate information to journalists.
- Proactive Media Relations: Implement strategic media relations initiatives, including developing media responses and scripts for various spokespeople.
- Event Profiling: Enhance the visibility of EPROK events through media platforms by developing and circulating press invites and releases.
5. Website Management (5%)
- Website Oversight: Plan, create, implement, manage, monitor, and update the EPROK website to ensure it reflects current initiatives and branding.
- Best Practices: Stay updated with industry best practices to create strategies that improve website traffic and user engagement.
- Content Alignment: Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure website content aligns with the brand strategy and organizational standards.
- User Experience: Regularly improve the website’s user experience and conduct quality assurance through regular testing.
6. Corporate Communications Budget (5%)
- Budget Management: Develop and manage short-term, medium-term, and long-term plans and budgets with guidance from the Communications Committee.
- Innovation and Relevance: Stay informed about developments in marketing, communications, and public relations to help EPROK operate with relevance and innovation.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform any other duties as assigned by the KAM Deputy Head of Policy Research and Advocacy.
Qualifications and Skills
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a communications role.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of communications, public relations, and marketing best practices.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media platforms.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Team Player: Strong communicator who works well both independently and within a team.
- Writing Skills: Must possess exceptional writing skills and the ability to compose engaging and accurate content.
- Time Management: Superior time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Organizational Skills: Good time management and organizational abilities.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and identify ways to improve communication efforts.
- Design Skills: Knowledge of design and publishing software (InDesign/Photoshop) is an added advantage.
- Multimedia Skills: Skills in multimedia, working with graphics, audio, and video are an added advantage.
