Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and Setup:
- Prepare mis-en-plus items before shifts begin.
- Set up and organize workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment, ensuring all cooking utensils are clean.
- Food Preparation and Cooking:
- Cook food to order, following specific menu guidelines and orders received.
- Ensure outstanding presentation by garnishing dishes before they are served to guests.
- Maintain standards in food portions and presentation.
- Inventory and Stock Management:
- Monitor supplies, replenish stock, and place orders when shortages are identified, particularly when the Head Chef is absent.
- Manage food health and safety standards rigorously to maintain kitchen hygiene.
- Coordination and Safety:
- Cooperate with fellow cooks to ensure timely completion of food orders.
- Ensure gas and other kitchen appliances are off when not in use to minimize wastage and enhance safety.
- Implement safety protocols, prioritizing the well-being of colleagues and self.
Key Qualifications
- Education:
- High School Certificate or diploma equivalent; a culinary school diploma is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in food production.
- Proven experience as a cook in fast-paced kitchens.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in various cooking methods (e.g., grilling, baking, boiling).
- Good interpersonal and coordination skills.
- Team player with excellent communication and organizational skills.
