About the role

In this role, you will become the key player in ensuring BURN’s continued success in the clean cooking industry. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of duties, including:

Competitor Analysis

  • Global Insights: Research and monitor competitor activities, strategies, and product offerings across the cookstove industry worldwide.
  • Emerging Competitors: Identify and track emerging competitors, potential threats, and market opportunities.
  • SWOT Analysis: Conduct a SWOT analysis to evaluate competitor strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

Market Research

  • Trend Tracking: Stay up-to-date with market trends, consumer preferences, and regulatory changes that may impact BURN’s competitive standing.
  • Market Data: Conduct research and gather data on competitor pricing, distribution, and customer feedback.

Data Collection and Analysis

  • Data Management: Organize and maintain a comprehensive database of competitor information, including financial data, product specifications, and market share.
  • Actionable Insights: Analyze data to extract valuable insights into competitor performance, market positioning, and potential areas for growth.

Reporting and Communication

  • Key Insights: Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and cross-functional teams, highlighting vital competitor insights and recommendations.
  • Integration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that competitive intelligence informs strategic planning.

Competitive Strategy

  • Collaborative Approach: Work closely with the strategy and product development teams to develop strategies that capitalize on competitive weaknesses and opportunities.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Provide input on pricing, product features, and marketing tactics based on competitor insights.

Ethical Standards

Skills and Experience

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in competitor intelligence, or strategic analysis, with a minimum of 5 years in a relevant role.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Knowledge of the clean cooking industry is a plus.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
  • Ethical and responsible conduct in handling sensitive competitive information.
