Role Overview:
As a Compensation Specialist at Sunda International, you’ll be at the heart of our human resources operations, ensuring our employees receive accurate and timely compensation for their hard work. Your meticulous attention to detail and in-depth knowledge of payroll processes will be instrumental in maintaining our commitment to excellence in employee compensation. Responsibilities:
- Precise Payroll Preparation: Compile and analyze salary data, including hours worked, leaves, allowances, commissions, and other relevant factors, to ensure accurate payroll processing.
- Timely Payroll Processing: Prepare and process monthly payroll for staff members, adhering to strict deadlines and ensuring accuracy in all calculations.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure the timely submission of statutory deductions such as PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, and NITA, in accordance with East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, & Uganda) employment laws and regulations.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain meticulous records and reports of all payroll transactions, guaranteeing accuracy and completeness for auditing purposes.
- Employee Support: Address employee inquiries and concerns regarding payslip details, earnings, and deductions in a timely and professional manner, fostering trust and transparency within the organization.
- Audit Facilitation: Collaborate with auditors by providing comprehensive records and documentation, facilitating smooth and efficient audits of payroll processes.
- Process Optimization: Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates, to maintain organizational efficiency and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related business field, providing a solid foundation for understanding compensation principles and practices.
- Experience: Possess 1-2 years of hands-on experience in payroll administration and HR systems, with familiarity in tools such as Peoplesoft considered advantageous.
- Legal Expertise: Demonstrate extensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations specific to East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, & Uganda), particularly in relation to compensation practices.
- Confidentiality: Exhibit a high level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential employee data, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Communication Skills: Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with colleagues, management, and external stakeholders.
- Analytical Proficiency: Showcase strong statistical and analytical abilities, with proficiency in Excel or similar data analysis tools to organize, compute, and analyze salary data accurately.
