As a key member of our logistics and customer service team, you will play an essential role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of vehicle maintenance. If you have a clean driving record, strong communication skills, and a passion for excellent service, we want to hear from you.


Key Responsibilities

Driving and Vehicle Maintenance

  • Operate and Maintain Vehicles: Drive company vehicles responsibly and maintain them in top condition.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies to ensure the safety of goods, passengers, and other road users.

Customer Service

  • Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service, ensuring clear and effective communication with clients.
  • Timely Deliveries: Deliver goods to clients punctually, maintaining the reputation of Books First for reliability.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Documentation Management: Complete all necessary documentation accurately before departure and after delivery.
  • Policy Adherence: Follow company procedures and guidelines meticulously to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Logistics Support

  • Loading and Offloading: Assist in loading and unloading vehicles to ensure proper handling of goods.
  • Vehicle Cleanliness: Keep the vehicle clean and presentable at all times.

Qualifications and Skills

Education and Experience

  • Educational Background: Secondary education or higher.
  • Driving License: Valid Kenyan driving license (category B) with a clean, accident-free record.
  • Experience: Over five years of experience driving vans for companies or organizations.
  • Mechanics Knowledge: Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics.

Skills and Competencies

  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills to ensure punctual deliveries.
  • Communication: Strong verbal communication skills, with proficiency in English.
  • Defensive Driving: Training in defensive driving is essential.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Warm personality with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze and solve complex problems efficiently.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to Detail: High-performance standards with keen attention to detail.
