About the Role
As a Community Health Officer in Mutomo, Kitui County, you will be a vital part of our CHAMPS (CHildren And Mother PartnershipS) initiative. This role focuses on improving healthcare services at both the community and clinical levels, particularly in addressing the leading causes of maternal and child mortality. Your responsibilities include:
Program Quality and Capacity Building
- Supporting the implementation of maternal and child health activities in supported health facilities.
- Designing and implementing monitoring and supervision plans, ensuring quality services are provided.
- Coordinating technical training, mentorship, and Continuous Medical Education (CME) for healthcare providers.
- Implementing Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement measures in maternal and child health.
- Disseminating policies, tools, and strategies to improve access to maternal and child health interventions.
- Coordinating integrated outreaches to reach communities in hard-to-access areas with essential RMNCH services.
Project Management
- Planning project activities and setting high-quality performance targets.
- Reviewing and tracking project progress, ensuring adherence to technical standards and best practices.
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation related to project monitoring and implementation.
- Ensuring a collaborative and effective working environment with other staff members and partners.
- Promoting innovative and effective methods to achieve project strategic objectives.
Budget and Financial Management
- Ensuring program activities comply with CMMB financial guidelines and regulations.
- Participating in the preparation of project budgets and budget tracking activities.
Monitoring, Accountability, Evaluation, and Learning
- Using project management tools to plan, review, and track project progress and resource utilization.
- Preparing success stories, briefs on innovation, best practices, and project learnings.
- Monitoring CHV system performance and ensuring data quality.
- Preparing required donor project narrative reports and other reports as needed.
Partnerships
- Organizing and coordinating meetings with key stakeholders on project progress and challenges.
- Engaging partners at all project stages for their insights.
- Ensuring timely and quality tracking and liquidation in line with CMMB guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Communication, or Health.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in community health program implementation.
- Excellent coordination, networking, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and data analysis software.
- Knowledge of the local county context preferred.
- Comfortable working for a faith-based organization.
