We are a non-profit organization based in Muranga, Kenya, dedicated to supporting school-going children through transformative programs. Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Program Development
- Assist in crafting and implementing program strategies.
- Conduct weekly team meetings to assess progress and propose enhancements.
- Recommend measures to strengthen program support groups.
2. Planning and Reporting
- Prepare comprehensive annual plans, budgets, and reports.
- Regularly review and assess beneficiary and target group progress.
- Develop and maintain MOUs with health facilities in the project area.
3. Beneficiary Selection and Assessment
- Assess and select beneficiaries according to set criteria.
- Conduct thorough social assessments of referred families and individuals.
- Maintain updated beneficiary records and an efficient filing system.
4. Community Engagement
- Foster open communication within the community and across departments.
- Resolve issues affecting team operations promptly and objectively.
- Cultivate strong relationships with local health facilities.
5. Educational Support
- Develop selection criteria for educational support beneficiaries.
- Monitor the performance and progress of supported children.
- Ensure children are prepared for school, providing necessary materials.
6. Support Group Empowerment
- Organize training sessions for support groups and community workers.
- Facilitate support groups in providing educational and psychological support.
- Regularly monitor and assess the progress of program participants.
7. Networking and Donor Relations
- Identify potential donors, government departments, and private businesses.
- Maintain positive relations with sponsors and provide regular updates.
- Handle high-level correspondence and ensure data confidentiality.
8. Data Management
- Enter and manage data in prescribed databases.
- Transcribe information into electronic formats.
- Ensure data accuracy and compliance with data integrity policies.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Child Psychology, or related fields.
- Knowledge of data collection, analysis, and knowledge management.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience working with vulnerable populations and community groups.
- Previous experience in child-focused organizations is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Proficiency in English, Kiswahili, and the local language.
- Strong report-writing skills.
