Adolescents 360 (A360), PSI’s flagship project, is a 5-year initiative funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF). It operates in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Kenya, partnering with young people and government health systems to design, pilot, and scale adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) interventions. The goal is to position contraception as a tool for achieving girls’ self-defined goals. During the first phase, A360 supported over 420,000 adolescent girls in adopting modern contraception.

About the Role

Are you a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual? PSI is seeking an intern to join the A360 team for a 3-month internship with the possibility of extension to 6 months. As an intern, you will gain valuable hands-on experience and contribute to supporting the execution of A360’s communications strategy, including managing our social media channels on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. This internship offers exposure to Adolescents Sexual and Reproductive Health interventions and provides a supportive learning environment for professional development.

Your Contribution

Under the guidance of your assigned supervisor, as a program intern, you will:

  1. Support in Managing Social Media Channels (40% of the time): Assist in managing A360’s social media channels and social media campaigns.
  2. Package Technical Learnings (10% of the time): Provide support to A360’s technical leads in packaging project learnings into external communications materials.
  3. Digital Asset Management (10% of the time): Assist in digital asset management.
  4. Media Editing (30% of the time): Support photo, video, and audio editing.
  5. Other Tasks (10% of the time): Perform other assigned tasks that contribute to your learning journey as a communications intern.

What We Are Looking For

  • Completion of a university or similar educational program in Communication, Journalism, Information Studies, Media Studies, Social Science, International development, or any related field.
  • Interest in development, especially in communication and branding.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong communication skills, including excellent listening and empathy, and the ability to write clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Adobe, and related software.
  • Demonstrable experience in media communications, including social media, is an asset.
  • Prior experience in the social development sector, including non-government organizations or government development agencies, is an asset.
  • Ability to adapt to new environments and establish good working relations with individuals of different cultural backgrounds.
