Position Overview

Job Summary

The Communication Intern will play a critical role in supporting our communication efforts. You will work closely with our Monitoring & Evaluation team to develop and maintain a consistent content calendar, create engaging social media content, and assist in various communication activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Assist in developing and maintaining a content calendar. Create compelling graphics, infographics, and short-form videos for social media.
  • Event Coverage: Attend events with the TT and/or SMT team to capture and create content.
  • Social Media Management: Respond to social media queries, track engagement, and brainstorm new content ideas.
  • Website Management: Assist in managing and updating the website.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all content aligns with Mercy Corps’ brand message.
  • Miscellaneous Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall communication strategy.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in communication or a related field.
  • Skills: Proficiency in content creation, including graphic design and video editing. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Experience: Previous experience in social media management and content creation is preferred.

During this internship, you will:

  • Develop critical-thinking skills through active participation in brainstorm sessions and ideation processes.
  • Enhance written communication skills by producing original online content.
