Job Summary:

As a Communication and Marketing Officer at IEK, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication and marketing strategies to promote the organization’s initiatives, events, and services. You will play a crucial role in enhancing IEK’s brand visibility, engaging with stakeholders, and attracting new members to the organization. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a creative mindset, and a passion for promoting engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and Implement Communication Strategies:

  • Collaborate with the management team to develop comprehensive communication strategies aligned with IEK’s objectives.
  • Create engaging content for various communication channels, including social media, newsletters, press releases, and website updates.
  • Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication platforms.

2. Manage Social Media Presence:

  • Oversee IEK’s social media accounts and develop engaging content to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Monitor social media trends, respond to inquiries, and facilitate discussions on relevant engineering topics.
  • Analyze social media metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and identify areas for improvement.

3. Coordinate Marketing Campaigns:

  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns to promote IEK’s events, publications, and membership benefits.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers and content creators to develop marketing materials, including brochures, posters, and digital advertisements.
  • Track campaign performance and ROI to optimize future marketing initiatives.

4. Cultivate Media Relations:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers.
  • Pitch story ideas, press releases, and op-eds to secure media coverage for IEK’s initiatives and events.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for IEK in media interviews and public appearances.

5. Event Promotion and Management:

  • Support the promotion and logistics of IEK’s events, conferences, and workshops.
  • Coordinate with event organizers, sponsors, and vendors to ensure successful event execution.
  • Develop post-event reports and analyze attendee feedback to inform future event planning efforts.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in marketing, communications, or digital media management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools, content management systems, and analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of the engineering industry or professional associations is preferred.
