Overview:

The Institute of Energy Studies and Research (IESR) is seeking a qualified Clinical Officer to join our team on a locum/part-time basis. As a Clinical Officer at IESR, you will be responsible for providing clinical services to students, staff, and their dependents, maintaining medical records, procuring drugs and medical accessories, ensuring clinic security, and promoting health education within the institute.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Clinical Services: Provide high-quality clinical services to students, staff, and their dependents.
  2. Insurance Coordination: Collaborate with the dean of students to arrange insurance cover for students and administer the student’s group personal accident insurance scheme.
  3. Medical Records: Maintain accurate medical records for staff and students in the institute.
  4. Drug and Equipment Management: Procure and maintain an adequate stock of drugs, accessories, and medical equipment for the clinic.
  5. Stock Control: Regularly conduct stock-taking of drugs in the clinic and ensure proper inventory management.
  6. Clinic Security: Liaise with the IESR security officer to ensure the clinic’s security is upheld at all times.
  7. Health Education: Provide health education sessions to students and staff, promoting a healthy environment within the institute.
  8. Hygiene Maintenance: Uphold high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the clinic.

Job Specifications:

  1. Education: Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience at a busy clinic/hospital.
  3. Registration: Registered with the Clinical Officers Council with a valid practicing license.
  4. Skills: Knowledge of non-communicable diseases (NCD) management, ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision, exceptional patient interaction/customer care skills.
  5. Personal Attributes: Result-oriented team player with demonstrable leadership, organization, and decision-making skills.
  6. Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  7. Collaboration: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
