CLAIMS ASSISTANT – GENERAL BUSINESS (CONTRACT)

Purpose:

Responsible for efficiently handling claims and ensuring timely settlements.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Register and Analyze Claims

  • Advise clients on necessary claims documents and requirements.
  • Analyze adjuster/investigators claim reports to recommend settlement/approval/admission.

2. Appoint Service Providers

  • Identify and appoint suitable service providers as needed.

3. Process Claims

  • Process fully documented claims promptly.
  • Refer suspicious claims to the supervisor for further review.

4. Initiate Third Party Recoveries

  • Prepare and send written demand letters for third-party recoveries.

5. Review Claims Reserves

  • Monitor claims reserves regularly based on new developments and close files when all payments are made.

6. Manage Service Providers Payments

  • Process invoices from service providers and ensure timely payments within set standards.

7. Issue Discharge Vouchers

  • Issue discharge vouchers for all fully documented claims.

8. Handle Customer Queries and Complaints

  • Attend to customer queries and complaints professionally and promptly.

9. Follow Up on Claims Payments

  • Ensure timely follow-up on claims payments.

Key Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Behavioral Competencies:

Academic and Professional Requirements

  • Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • Essential: Computer literate in MS Office and other office applications.
  • Desirable: Part qualification in a relevant professional field (Diploma in Insurance, ACCI/AIIK will be an added advantage).

Experience Required:

  • Essential: At least 1 year of relevant experience.
