Job Purpose

The primary objective of the Civil Engineering Intern is to provide practical experience and training to aspiring civil engineers while contributing to the successful execution of NexGen Fuel Works Limited’s civil works projects. The intern will be involved in various aspects of project planning, site inspections, technical drawings, and collaboration with other departments to ensure smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in Site Inspections and Surveys

The Civil Engineering Intern will assist in conducting site inspections and surveys to gather data crucial for project planning. This includes measuring land dimensions, analyzing topography, and assessing soil conditions to ensure the construction site is suitable for the intended project.

2. Help Prepare Technical Drawings and Plans Using CAD Software

Using AutoCAD and other relevant software, the intern will assist in preparing technical drawings and plans that form the blueprint for construction projects. This role requires attention to detail and an understanding of the technical aspects of civil engineering.

3. Participate in Project Planning and Scheduling

The intern will actively participate in project planning and scheduling sessions, gaining insight into how projects are structured from conception to completion. This includes understanding timelines, resource allocation, and key project milestones.

4. Assist in Labour Scheduling and Weekly Casual Payroll Preparation

5. Assist in the Preparation of Cost Estimates and Budgets

6. Conduct Basic Structural Calculations and Analysis
