Key Responsibilities

As a Chef at Kicheche Camp Limited, you will:

  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes to maintain consistent quality and excellence.
  • Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in developing new, innovative dishes and menus that align with guest preferences.
  • Take charge of a specific kitchen section, such as pastry, butchery, fish, sauces, or vegetables.
  • Participate in daily departmental briefs, ensuring a clear understanding of expectations and responsibilities.
  • Evaluate food quality by checking taste, consistency, and quantity of all prepared items to avoid overproduction.
  • Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the production, preparation, and presentation of food, ensuring the highest standards at all times.
  • Ensure the adequacy of supplies at all cooking stations to prevent delays in preparation.
  • Prepare essential ingredients, including vegetables, spices, and other frequently used items, to streamline cooking operations.
  • Monitor and maintain proper storage of raw materials and food items, ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
  • Uphold best practices in food handling, preparation, and sanitation to guarantee a safe and healthy kitchen environment.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following:

Educational Background:

  • Diploma in Culinary Arts, Cookery, or Hospitality Management.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a Chef de Partie or similar role.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of food production methods and the ability to implement them efficiently.
  • Proficiency in various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and processes.
  • Exceptional multitasking abilities and the capacity to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of best cooking practices and attention to detail.
