EXTERNAL RECRUITMENT: DSR INSURANCE MARKETING INTERN POSITION

JOB SUMMARY

Springboard Capital Ltd is seeking to hire a DSR Marketing Insurance Intern who will report to the Insurance Officer. The main role of the intern will be to support the business through the marketing and sale of insurance products. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the insurance industry and develop key skills in customer service, sales, and insurance operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Carry Out Insurance Marketing Activities

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote insurance products.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and target markets.
  • Organize and participate in promotional events and campaigns.

Ensure Effective Customer Service to Insurance Clients

  • Provide prompt and professional responses to customer inquiries.
  • Assist clients with policy applications and documentation.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints and issues.

Support in Following Up for Insurance Renewals

  • Contact clients to remind them of upcoming policy renewals.
  • Assist clients with the renewal process and policy updates.
  • Ensure continuous coverage and client satisfaction.

Placement of Cover and Obtaining Insurance Confirmations

  • Coordinate with underwriters to place insurance cover for clients.
  • Obtain and verify insurance confirmations and certificates.
  • Maintain accurate records of cover placements.

Review of Insurance Cover Confirmation Documents for Completeness and Accuracy

  • Examine insurance documents to ensure all details are correct.
  • Communicate with clients to gather any missing information.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

Giving Accurate and Complete Quotation of Insurance Premiums

  • Calculate and provide clients with precise insurance premium quotes.
  • Explain premium calculations and payment options to clients.
  • Ensure transparency and clarity in all client communications.

Ensure Maintenance of Customer Information in Both Computerized and Physical Format

  • Update and maintain accurate client records in the company’s database.
  • Ensure physical records are organized and securely stored.
  • Implement data protection and privacy policies.

Ensuring Timely Payment of Insurance Premiums

  • Monitor premium payment schedules and deadlines.
  • Follow up with clients to ensure timely payments.
  • Provide assistance with payment processing and issues.

Ensure Company Policies Have Been Effectively Communicated to Clients

  • Explain company policies and procedures to clients.
  • Ensure clients understand their rights and responsibilities.
  • Address any client questions or concerns about policies.

Advise Clients on Insurance Related Issues

  • Provide expert advice on insurance products and services.
  • Assist clients in choosing the best insurance options for their needs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes.

Updating Insurance Data to the Insurance Register

  • Record and update all insurance transactions in the register.
  • Ensure the register is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Perform regular audits of the register.

Preparing Insurance Memos for Premium Collection

  • Draft and send memos to clients regarding premium collection.
  • Provide detailed information on payment amounts and deadlines.
  • Follow up on outstanding memos and payments.

Any Other Duties as Assigned

  • Assist with special projects and tasks as needed.
  • Provide support to other team members and departments.
  • Participate in training and development activities.

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Background

  • Diploma in Insurance or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Additional certifications in insurance or marketing are a plus.

Work Experience

  • At least 1-2 years of relevant working experience, especially in insurance marketing.
  • Proven track record of successful marketing and sales activities.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in ICT, including MS Office and internet applications.
  • Familiarity with insurance software and tools.

Communication Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex information to clients.

Negotiation and Persuasion Skills

  • Strong negotiation skills to close sales and secure renewals.
  • Persuasive abilities to convince clients of the value of insurance products.

Proactive and Alert to New Opportunities

  • Keen eye for identifying new business opportunities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions.

Highly Effective Communicator

  • Skilled in both oral and written communication.
  • Ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
