Introduction

The Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) is a 100% state-owned corporation, incorporated on December 2, 2008, under the Company’s Act, Cap 486, as a State Corporation pursuant to Sessional Paper No. 4 of 2004 on Energy. KETRACO is mandated to plan, design, construct, own, operate, and maintain high voltage electricity transmission grids and regional power interconnectors.

Job Title: Construction Supervision Technicians – KET 7 (7 Positions)

Reference: KETRACO/5/1C/40/218/VOL I-B
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Employment Type: 2-Year Contract (Renewable Subject to Project Completion)

Job Summary

The Construction Supervision Technicians will be responsible for day-to-day follow-ups on the progress of works, ensuring that all construction activities meet the established designs, standards, and specifications. This role reports directly to the Project Manager and is essential for maintaining quality and adherence to project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervision of Works at Site: Oversee and monitor all on-site activities, ensuring compliance with the project design and standards.
• Preparation of Joint Measurement Certificates: Collaborate with the Contractor and Consultant to prepare measurement certificates for signing by the KETRACO engineer, Consultant, and Contractor.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Diploma in Civil Engineering: Essential for the technical understanding and supervision of construction activities.
• Minimum of Four (4) Years Relevant Work Experience: Required to ensure competence and expertise in similar roles.
• Working Condition: Field visits are mandatory to oversee construction activities on-site.

Mandatory Requirements

2. Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV): Indicating current and previous employers, positions held, education level, current and expected salary, notice period required, and names of at least three professional referees.
3. Copies of Academic and Professional Certificates
4. Copy of National Identification Card or Passport

  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
  • Valid Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  • Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  • Current Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
  • Current Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
