Introduction

The Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) is a 100% state-owned corporation, incorporated on December 2nd, 2008 under the Company’s Act, Cap 486. Established as a State Corporation pursuant to the Sessional Paper No. 4 of 2004 on Energy, KETRACO is dedicated to planning, designing, constructing, owning, operating, and maintaining a high voltage electricity transmission grid and regional power interconnectors.

Vision: To be a world-class electricity transmission company and the leading interconnector in Africa.

Mission: To provide reliable, efficient, and effective electricity transmission and promote power trade for sustainable socio-economic development.

Available Position

Legal Officer, Projects – KET 6 (1 NO.) REF: KETRACO/5/1C/40 /216/VOL I – B

Reporting to: Project Legal Officer

Location: Narok-Bomet Transmission Line

Contract Duration: One (1) year, renewable subject to the completion of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the collation of requisite documents for successions.
  • Oversee the execution of easement agreements by Project Affected Persons (PAPs).

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized institution.
  • Must be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), and hold a valid practicing certificate.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Council of Legal Education.
  • Experience in wayleave acquisition.
  • Experience in the registration of easements.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in the wayleave acquisition process.

Working Conditions: Field visits are required.

Mandatory Requirements for All Positions

Applicants MUST provide the following documents:

  1. A signed application letter.
  2. A detailed Curriculum Vitae indicating current and previous employers, positions held, level of education, current and expected salary, notice period required to take up the appointment, and names of at least three professional referees.
  3. Copies of academic and professional certificates.
  4. A copy of National Identification Card or Passport.

  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
  • Valid Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
  • Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
  • Current Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
  • Current Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
