Position Overview

The Business Development Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the sales and growth of AHB’s short and long-term revenue goals. You will work closely with various internal departments such as marketing, IT, finance, and consulting, and report directly to the Business Development and Partnerships Manager. Your key responsibilities will include attracting new clients, writing winning proposals, and building and maintaining solid relationships with both new and existing clients.


Responsibilities and Duties

As a Business Development Associate, you will be responsible for:

  • Sourcing New Business Opportunities: Collaborate with AHB leadership to identify and nurture business development opportunities and partnerships that will contribute to our growth.
  • Client Engagement: Participate in introductory and prospecting calls and meetings, take detailed notes, and manage relationships before and after meetings.
  • Proposal Development: Prepare key business development documents, including concept notes and proposals, to secure project contracts for AHB.
  • Communication: Ensure accurate messaging and communication with potential clients and partners through meetings, presentations, proposals, reports, and other materials.
  • Strategy Implementation: Support the development and implementation of business development strategies, SOPs, client service, and retention plans.
  • Event Preparation: Prepare for event participation by mapping relevant stakeholders to ensure targeted engagement and effective networking.
  • Proposal Submission: Apply, prepare, and contribute to the development and presentation of technical and financial concept notes and proposals to attract new business opportunities.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with proposal requirements and adherence to defined processes, quality standards, and deadlines.
  • Follow-Up: Follow up on concept notes and proposal submissions and support various parts of the contracting process towards finalization and sign-off.

Knowledge and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Education: Minimum university bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in business development or a similar field.
  • Industry Familiarity: Familiarity with consulting, business, and health-related issues is desired.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially MS Word and PowerPoint, with the ability to format complex documents correctly and concisely.
  • Research Abilities: Ability to conduct research efficiently to identify or verify information.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English is required, with French being a preferred additional language.
