Job Title: Branch Manager, Mombasa

Job Overview

The Branch Manager will lead and oversee the general administration and management of the Mombasa branch. The role involves developing and executing strategies to meet financial goals, driving marketing efforts, ensuring service excellence, and supervising staff to achieve branch targets. This position plays a vital role in promoting KIM’s professional services, including KIMSOM products, membership services, and business solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Staff Management: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the branch team, ensuring the efficient delivery of KIM services. Manage staff to maintain high performance and accountability.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a branch-specific strategic plan aligned with the Institute’s overall objectives. Regularly prepare and review the branch’s annual plan to support long-term goals.
  • Product and Service Delivery: Drive the successful delivery of KIMSOM products, KIM Membership, and Business Solutions at the branch level.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all branch operations adhere to approved policies, procedures, rules, and regulations to guarantee quality service delivery.
  • Cost Management: Monitor and manage branch expenses to ensure cost-efficiency, without compromising the quality of services provided.
  • Marketing and Recruitment: Lead marketing efforts through corporate visits, exhibitions, and school recruitment initiatives to increase membership and course enrollment.
  • Reporting: Compile and present financial, academic, and administrative reports to inform management of branch performance and to highlight any challenges or areas for improvement.
  • Executive Representation: Act as the branch’s representative in executive meetings, ensuring staff are updated on management decisions and branch targets.
  • Staff Supervision and Work Allocation: Oversee staff activities, allocate tasks, and ensure efficient workflow to maintain branch productivity.
  • Performance and Budget Management: Manage the branch’s annual budget, oversee revenue generation efforts, and approve necessary expenditures, such as petty cash disbursements.
  • Student Recruitment: Lead recruitment efforts for all courses offered at the branch, aiming for high enrollment rates and student satisfaction.

  1. Revenue Generation: Achievement of branch revenue targets.
  2. Student Enrollment: Number of students admitted into various programs.
  3. Examination Performance: Student exam results and academic success rates.

  7. Compliance: Ensuring all operations comply with KIM policies and local regulations.
  8. Conversions: Number of inquiries converted to enrollments.
  9. Student Retention: Retaining students and ensuring their progression through the academic programs.
  10. Cost Efficiency: Ability to maintain operational costs within the allocated budget.

Required Knowledge & Experience

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate strong competencies in leadership, strategic planning, and operational management. Below are the specific competencies and qualifications required:

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of branch operations, project management, and research skills.
  • People Management: Proven experience managing teams, including staff development and resource management.
  • ERP Systems: Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning systems for tracking branch performance.
  • Report Writing: Ability to compile and present detailed financial and administrative reports.
  • Marketing Skills: Ability to effectively market the branch’s services to prospective students and corporate clients.
  • Public Relations: Proficiency in building corporate relationships and representing KIM at various events.
  • Basic Accounting Skills: Capable of budgeting and managing the branch’s financials.
  • Human Resource Management: Sound knowledge of HR policies and practices.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and other relevant software.

Qualifications

  1. Master’s Degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
  2. Eight (8) years of relevant work experience, with at least three (3) years in a managerial position.
  3. Demonstrable experience in branch management, leadership, and service delivery.
