1. Preventive Maintenance Planner & Scheduler

About the Role

Biodeal Laboratories seeks an accomplished, self-driven Preventive Maintenance Planner & Scheduler to ensure optimal operation and maintenance of production equipment & utilities equipment.

Role Objective

To plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance. Ensure maintenance technicians have tools and parts they need to complete work orders.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage work order and PM process via Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as SAP (work order generation, tracking, reporting, and completion).
  • Develop a work plan that includes the sequence of activities, staffing needs, and best methods and procedures to accomplish the job, considering job duration, location, travel distance, and the possibility of combining jobs in the same area.
  • Define internal/external resource needs for work scheduling and project planning; create and manage requisitions for outside repairs (cost estimating through completion); help manage cost and look for ways to improve using internal resources.
  • Support safety and environmental auditing process/action plan by independently scheduling and conducting PM and work order audits; maintain SAP system.
  • Review/track metrics with the Maintenance Manager and lead mechanics and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Perform hazard assessments of jobs and identify permits required (e.g., hot work, confined space).
  • Plan and order parts/materials; prepare parts kits for upcoming jobs.
  • Direct outside contractors on the installation of jobs and projects.
  • Work directly with production associates and management to problem-solve and correct production issues to ensure maximum production efficiencies.
  • Develop measurements for tracking the success and timeliness of maintenance activities, such as work order completion rates.
  • Work collaboratively with Quality and Production Departments to resolve issues. Communicate clearly and concisely to others, both verbally and in writing.
  • Perform purchasing functions as needed.
  • Comply, enforce, and assist supervision in ensuring employees comply with all job duties, PPE, GMP, and safety policies.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and on off times outside of normal shift hours to resolve problems or concerns related to production and project activities.
  • Move and lift material weighing 50 pounds to distances of 10 feet or more.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time in temperature extremes daily.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Maintenance and Facilities Manager

Direct Staff Responsibility: Planning and scheduling of Preventive and Corrective Maintenance for all production equipment and Utilities Systems, including but not limited to, HVAC system, Purified Water generation and distribution plant, Wastewater treatment plant, Compressed air system, and generators.

Role Requirements and Qualifications

  • High School or General Education Diploma
  • Minimum 3 years of position-related experience
  • Comprehensive English (Reading, Writing, Communicating) Required
  • Strong electrical mechanical background is required.
  • Machine Shop, PLC, and Maintenance experience preferred.
  • Computer Literacy (Excel, Word, E-mail, PLC, CMMS)
  • Ability to successfully pass the Ramsey Maintenance II Assessment
  • Diploma in mechanical engineering (plant option)/ Diploma in mechatronics engineering/Diploma in Electrical and electronics engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry or food manufacturing industry
  • Ability to effectively handle both electrical and mechanical work.
  • Experience in process flow and automation.
  • Experience in HVAC maintenance.
  • Programmable Logic Control (PLC) experience will be an added advantage.
  • Willingness to learn and develop.

2. Utilities Technician

About the Role

Biodeal Laboratories seeks an accomplished, self-driven Utilities Technician to ensure optimal operation and maintenance of utilities equipment: Purified Water Generation System, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning System, Wastewater Treatment Plant Generator, and Compressed Air System.

Role Objective

To operate and maintain the utilities throughout their technological useful life by carrying out effective preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain, inspect, and operate utilities systems including but not limited to, HVAC system, Purified Water generation and distribution plant, Wastewater treatment plant, Compressed air system, and generators.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in all utilities system areas.
  • Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules for utilities.
  • Maintain all utilities in good working condition through both corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Maintain all assigned utilities in good physical condition e.g. lockable panels, guards, fixings, and fasteners among others.
  • Maintain and review all documentation for all the works/activities carried out as per GMP.
  • Review daily operation logs for all utilities systems.

Reports to: Maintenance and Facilities Manager

Role Objective

To operate and maintain packaging machines throughout their technological useful life by carrying out correct machine settings and quality autonomous maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain all assigned packaging equipment in good working condition through both corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Maintain all assigned packaging equipment in good physical condition at all times e.g. lockable panels, guards, fixings, and fasteners among others.
  • Maintain all required documentation for all the works/activities carried out as per GMP.
  • Carry out both Autonomous and preventive maintenance on the packaging machine assigned.

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Direct Staff Responsibility: Operation and maintenance of packaging machines

Role Requirements and Qualifications

  • Diploma in mechanical engineering (plant option)/ Diploma in mechatronics engineering/Diploma in Electrical and electronics engineering.
