About the Role: Hair Technician (Barber)
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Hair Technician (Barber) to join our team at Pullman Nairobi Westlands. In this role, you will consult with clients to understand their style goals and create customized hairstyles that enhance their appearance and confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Consultation: Understand and assess clients’ needs, recommend hairstyle and treatment options.
- Hair Cutting and Styling: Use your expertise to cut and style hair to client specifications.
- Chemical Treatments: Apply hair dyes and other chemical solutions to achieve desired results.
- Facial Hair Grooming: Trim and style facial hair using razors, clippers, and scissors.
- Salon Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the salon, maintaining health and safety standards.
- Trend Awareness: Stay updated on emerging hairstyles and industry trends to offer the latest styles to clients.
Qualifications:
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to connect with clients and understand their needs.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in haircutting, coloring, and using various hairstyling tools.
- Customer Service: Ability to build long-term client relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Physical Stamina: Capability to stand for long periods and perform precise cuts.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, plus a state-licensed barber school diploma or higher.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in an upscale salon or hospitality and spa industry.
- Certification: Valid licenses and certifications in the field.
