Job Summary

The Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operation of the assigned outlet, ensuring seamless coordination with all hotel departments. This role involves planning, controlling, and supervising all activities to maximize cooperation, productivity, and guest satisfaction. The Bar Manager must maintain high standards of quality, hygiene, and safety, working closely with the Food & Beverage (F&B) Manager to achieve the organization’s profitability goals through effective resource utilization and service excellence.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Supervision & Coordination:
    Oversee and coordinate activities within the assigned outlet, ensuring smooth operation and maximum guest satisfaction. Collaborate closely with all hotel departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Service Flow Management:
    Monitor and supervise service delivery to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Communication with Management:
    Report any issues that may affect hotel operations to management promptly.
  • Support to F&B Manager:
    Assist the F&B Manager in planning and executing outlet operations, including menu planning and event organization.

Quality Control & Safety

  • Hygiene Standards:
    Ensure compliance with company and statutory hygiene standards in all areas of the outlet.
  • Team Training:
    Conduct regular training sessions for the team on safety provisions and hygiene standards.
  • Health & Safety Compliance:
    Maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring that all safety protocols are strictly followed.

Team Development

  • Motivation & Development:
    Encourage teamwork and develop the team to ensure smooth operation and high morale.
  • Uniform & Hygiene Standards:
    Ensure that all team members adhere to company uniform and hygiene standards.
  • Quality Maintenance:
    Ensure that the quality of work is consistent with company standards.

Financial Management

  • Budget Preparation:
    Prepare and monitor the annual budget for the outlet, providing regular updates to the F&B Manager.
  • Cost Control:
    Maintain profit margins by ensuring that agreed costs are not exceeded, through effective control systems and menu costing.
  • Sales Promotion:
    Assist in promoting sales by organizing events and food festivals to attract customers.

Service Excellence

  • Service Standards:
    Maintain high standards of service delivery, ensuring guest satisfaction and organizational profitability.
  • Compliance & Discipline:
    Ensure that the outlet operates within agreed budgetary limits and legal parameters while maintaining discipline and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management or an equivalent qualification.
  • Experience:
    4-5 years of experience in branded hotels, with a focus on Food & Beverage management.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication skills to interact with guests and team members effectively.
    • Strong analytical skills to assess and improve operational efficiency.
