Associate HR Officer

Introduction:

Welcome to RCK (Refugee Consortium of Kenya), where we are dedicated to fostering a just and inclusive society for all displaced and host populations. As an organization committed to protecting and promoting the well-being, voice, and dignity of the displaced, we are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as an Associate HR Officer. This role is based in Nairobi with occasional travel to our offices.

Job Summary:

As an Associate HR Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Human Resources, procurement, and office administration functions. Working under supervision, you will assist in various professional activities, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job vacancies, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
  • Coordinate candidate communication and interview logistics under the guidance of the HR Manager.
  • Support the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
  • Assist in benefits administration tasks such as enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
  • Support HR initiatives and projects, including employee engagement activities and performance management processes.
  • Maintain personnel records and assist in updating HR information in the ERP system.
  • Manage front office duties and respond to external queries when required.
  • Ensure inventory management and track office consumables.
  • Assist in coordinating office events and board meeting logistics.
  • Handle petty cash and reimbursements in the absence of the admin assistant.
  • Perform any other duties delegated by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma in Human Resources Management with membership in the Institute of Human Resource Management of Kenya.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work under pressure, willingness to travel, and flexibility in schedule.
