Job Description

Leadership in Corporate Communication Division

  • Provide visionary leadership to the Corporate Communication Division.

Quality Management and Strategic Planning

  • Ensure implementation and compliance with Quality Management System, performance contract, and strategic plan targets.

Budget Coordination

  • Coordinate the preparation of the Division’s annual budget.

Work Plan and Report Management

  • Prepare, monitor, and implement annual work-plans and reports in the Division.

Public Affairs and Communication Policies

  • Oversee the development and review of comprehensive public affairs and communications policies and strategies.

Internal and External Corporate Communications

  • Oversee both internal and external corporate communications.

Media Advisory and Best Practices

  • Advise the Council on the best media practices.

Event Coordination

  • Identify and coordinate significant events and programmes.

Brand Building and Corporate Materials

  • Oversee the design, innovation, and recommendation of corporate materials to enhance the Council’s brand.

Public Function Coordination

  • Coordinate the Council’s public functions.

Corporate Image and Crisis Communication

  • Coordinate the review of the Council’s corporate image and crisis communication strategies.

Public Feedback Mechanisms

  • Develop appropriate public feedback mechanisms.

Advertising and Publicity

  • Coordinate the Council’s advertising and publicity efforts.

Records and Stakeholder Relations

  • Ensure maintenance of all public affairs and communications records and photographs.
  • Manage and nurture relations with critical stakeholders.

1.2 Job Specification

  • At least ten (10) years cumulative relevant work experience, four (4) of which should have served at a Management level.
  • Master’s Degree in Mass Communication, Communication Studies, Public Relations, Journalism, or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations, or any Social Sciences, with a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication, Communication Studies, Public Relations, Journalism, or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Demonstrated professional competence and administrative capability as reflected in work performance and results.
  • Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
  • Registered member of a professional body.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution for the successful candidate.
