Position Summary & Purpose
Responsible for enhancing the corporate brand, image, and visibility, creating and sustaining goodwill and mutual understanding between the Authority and its publics through targeted communication, and implementing communications policies and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities will include:
i. Brand Manual Development:
- Develop for approval and implement a brand manual for the Authority.
ii. Communication Strategy Development:
- Develop for approval and implement a communication strategy for the Authority.
iii. Communication Strategies and Public Relations Programs:
- Formulate and implement creative communication strategies and public relations programs.
iv. Corporate Image Promotion:
- Promote a positive corporate image of the Authority to the public through promotions and campaigns.
v. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programs:
- Implement corporate social responsibility programs and maintain their impact.
vi. Corporate Communication Strategy Implementation:
- Initiate timely strategic and appropriate programs to implement the Authority’s Corporate Communication strategy.
vii. Branding and Promotion:
- Brand and promote the Authority nationally and internationally.
viii. Synergy Building and Collaboration Enhancement:
- Build synergy and enhance collaboration between the Authority and public and private sector institutions.
ix. Media Liaison:
- Undertake media liaison for Authority’s campaign activities.
x. Awareness Creation:
- Create awareness of the Authority’s mandate through participation in public shows and exhibitions.

- Proven ability to design, develop, and implement both communications and strategic programs and supporting tactics.

- Ability to be flexible and open to changing priorities and challenges.
Qualifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
i. Eight (8) years’ work experience, four (4) of which must be in a supervisory position. ii. Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or Mass Communication, Public Relations, or its equivalent from a recognized institution. iii. Master’s Degree in Mass Communication, Marketing, or its equivalent from a recognized institution. iv. Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, or its equivalent from a recognized institution (if the degree is not in Journalism or Mass Communication). v. Demonstrated a high degree of responsibility in discharging public relations duties. vi. Management course not lasting less than four (4) from a recognized institution. vii. Proficiency in computer applications. viii. Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution.

Clearance Requirements:
Successful candidates will be required to fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, specifically clearance from the following institutions:
- Kenya Revenue Authority
- Higher Education Loans Board
- Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
- National Police Service (Certificate of Good Conduct)
- Credit Reference Bureau
