We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Assistant Accountant to join our team at Loisaba Conservancy, a 58,000-acre Wildlife Conservancy in northern Laikipia. Job Responsibilities

As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of the conservancy by managing day-to-day accounting tasks. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage and maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including processing invoices and payments.
  • Financial Documentation: Prepare and verify financial documents such as invoices, receipts, and expense reports.
  • Payroll Processing: Assist with payroll processing, including data entry, calculations, and documentation.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders regarding financial matters.
  • Month-End Processes: Assist with month-end closing activities and ensure that all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure that all financial information is accurate and timely.
  • Administrative Support: Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A B.Com Degree with a specialization in finance or accounting, or be a CPA Finalist.
  • Professional Registration: Being registered with ICPAK and in good standing is an added advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in work and strong analytical skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Team Player: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Integrity: Demonstrated professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and grow in the role.
