Key Responsibilities
1. Smooth IT Operations Collaborate with fellow IT experts to ensure the flawless operation of our software and systems, aligning them with our business objectives and processes.
2. Systems Maintenance Implement and strictly adhere to our systems maintenance policies and procedures, including change request mechanisms and update schedules, to guarantee optimal uptime and service availability.
3. Research and Recommendations Conduct in-depth research on software systems products to justify recommendations and support our purchasing efforts.
4. System Acquisition Play an active role in the system acquisition process, contributing your insights to ensure we make informed decisions.
5. Strategic Direction Propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams, charts, and implementation roadmaps, offering valuable strategic direction to the business.
6. Disaster Recovery Perform system and process recovery and testing in line with our disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, ensuring our operations remain resilient.
7. Documentation Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to system configuration, mapping, and processes, ensuring transparency and accessibility.
8. Best Practices Establish and uphold best practice policies and procedures for our business users, effectively managing service improvements that align with the organization’s needs.
The Ideal Candidate
To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field from a recognized university.
- At least one professional certification from the following list: MCSE, MCITP, MCP, LINUX, or UNIX.
- 2 years of experience in handling various computer platforms and operating systems.
- 2 years of experience in managing a variety of computer database management systems.
- 2 years of experience in application software installation and support.
- Knowledge of basic budgeting, contracting, purchasing practices, policies, and procedures.
