Airport Manager Position at Malindi Airport (S7)

Job Overview

Job Purpose

As the Airport Manager at Malindi, your primary responsibility will be to provide visionary leadership to drive business growth, enhance customer experiences, and ensure the safety and security of passengers and airport users. This role aligns with international standards, recommended practices, and our strategic plan.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Business Development and Strategy

  • Collaborate with airport stakeholders to create and implement business development plans to foster growth.
  • Develop, review, and execute the airport’s strategic plan and objectives.

Infrastructure and Planning

  • Consult with stakeholders to develop and update the Airport Master Plan.
  • Oversee the financial health of the facility by creating, monitoring, and managing budgets.

Regulatory Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure airport operations, facilitation, security, and safety align with civil aviation standards.
  • Maintain continuous compliance with airport certification requirements.

Environmental Stewardship

  • Establish and implement an airport environmental program to ensure sustainability.

Operational Oversight

  • Manage and oversee day-to-day airport operations, maintaining efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation studies, Social Sciences, or related fields.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.

Skills and Competencies

  • Possess strong teamwork, communication, interpersonal, supervisory, and analytical skills.

Clearance Requirements

Shortlisted candidates are required to submit the following clearance certificates as per the Constitution of Kenya 2010, Chapter Six requirements:

  • Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
  • Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  • Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  • Clearance from the Ethics & Anti-corruption Authority (EACC)
  • Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)

Clearance certificates must be valid and current. The self-declaration Form from EACC should specify the applied position.

Only shortlisted and successful candidates will be contacted for further steps, including an interview where original National Identity Card, Academic, and Professional Certificates will be required.
