AIRPORT ENGINEER (S7) JOB OPPORTUNITY

Job Purpose

Your role is pivotal in ensuring top-notch preventive maintenance, infrastructure upkeep, budget management, and seamless work execution.

Key Responsibilities

i. Strategic Planning & Budgeting

  • Collaborate with Airport Manager and General Manager, Projects & Engineering Services to identify technical projects for future airport development plans.
  • Forge partnerships with external service providers (KPLC, Nairobi Water & Sewerage Co., and international airport equipment manufacturers).

ii. Leadership & Excellence

  • Motivate and empower your team to achieve remarkable capabilities and overall objectives.
  • Ensure meticulous monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.

iii. Documentation & Accountability

  • Oversee division’s budgeting, reporting, cash flow, and debt management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting structures within the institution.

iv. Maintenance Schedule & Procurement

  • Craft a dynamic preventive maintenance schedule for all engineering activities.
  • Prepare detailed specifications and tender documents for efficient procurement processes.

v. Budget Management

  • Develop the annual engineering services budget in close collaboration with the airport technical team.
  • Ensure efficient implementation of the approved budget and timely project execution.

vi. Technical Expertise

  • Participate actively in cross-functional and departmental team meetings.
  • Provide invaluable technical insights and advice on engineering services.

vii. Workshop Oversight

  • Supervise various technical workshops (Mechanical, electrical, electronics) to ensure continuous excellence.

Key Qualifications and Experience

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil & Structural Engineering, Building & Construction, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Member of Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) with valid registration.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant working experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.

Skills and Competencies

  • Team player with exceptional communication, interpersonal, supervisory, and analytical skills.
