Accounts Receivable (AR) Follow-Up Associate – Athi River, Kenya
Job Summary
ADEC Kenya is actively seeking a Accounts Receivable (AR) Follow-Up Associate to join our team at Athi River EPZ. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling insurance follow-ups, managing denials in a healthcare provider setting, and ensuring efficient communication between our organization and insurance payers. This role will require flexibility to accommodate night shifts, and candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to Kitengela, Athi River, or Mlolongo.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct follow-up on outstanding AR and insurance denials, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
- Analyze and resolve billing discrepancies through thorough investigation and communication with payers.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer systems and insurance protocols to resolve claim issues.
- Work closely with the billing team to address any identified issues in medical billing processes.
- Utilize medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems effectively for day-to-day operations.
- Track and report key metrics related to AR management and identify areas for improvement.
- Support the finance team in conducting thorough investigations into billing issues and developing strategies for improved cash flow.
- Prepare and submit claims in accordance with payer guidelines while ensuring compliance with all relevant medical billing protocols.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any field.
- 1-2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) follow-up or denials management, preferably in a healthcare provider setting.
- Proficient in medical billing software and EHR systems.
- Strong understanding of payer systems and the ability to analyze billing issues and resolve insurance denials.
- Effective problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to resolve billing discrepancies quickly and efficiently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility to work night shifts.
- Preference for candidates staying within or ready to relocate to Kitengela, Athi River, or Mlolongo.

This position is based at Athi River EPZ, one of Kenya’s leading economic processing zones. The office environment is fast-paced, requiring attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a diverse team.

About the Role
The AR Follow-Up Associate plays a vital role in managing the organization’s revenue cycle by ensuring that all claims are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with insurance guidelines. This role involves:
