Job Summary:

At UF, we have several openings across different grades and terms of service. From Directors to Officers, each role plays a vital part in achieving our mission. Whether you’re leading resource mobilization, managing grants, or enhancing corporate communications, you’ll be contributing to the advancement of higher education in Kenya.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Director Resource Mobilization and Partnerships (UF 2):
    1. Lead initiatives to mobilize funds from government, donors, and other sources.
    2. Establish and nurture partnerships to support the funding objectives of UF.
  2. Deputy Director, Grants Management (UF 3):
    1. Oversee the management and allocation of grants to universities.
    2. Ensure compliance with grant regulations and reporting requirements.
  3. Deputy Director, Human Resources and Administration (UF 3):
    1. Manage HR functions including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
    2. Oversee administrative operations to support the smooth functioning of UF.
  4. Assistant Director, Legal (UF 4):
    1. Provide legal counsel and support to UF on various matters.
    2. Draft and review contracts, agreements, and policies.
  5. Principal Grants Management Officer (UF 5):
    1. Coordinate the evaluation and approval process for grant applications.
    2. Monitor the implementation of funded projects and ensure accountability.
  6. Principal Corporate Communications Officer (UF 5):
    1. Develop and implement communication strategies to enhance UF’s public image.
    2. Manage media relations and oversee the production of communication materials.
  7. Principal Internal Auditor (UF 5):
    1. Conduct internal audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
    2. Prepare audit reports and recommendations for management.
  8. Senior Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Officer (UF 6):
    1. Support the Director in mobilizing funds and establishing partnerships.
    2. Assist in the development of funding proposals and donor communications.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field (Masters preferred for senior roles).
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the public sector or NGOs.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications and tools.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.
