1. Monitoring & Evaluation Officer – Vanga
Job Type: Full Time
Qualification: BA/BSc/HND
Experience: 2 years
Location: Kwale
Job Field: Data, Business Analysis and AI, Project Management
Job Purpose:
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer is responsible for ensuring high-quality and timely inputs, maintaining ELRF’s strategic vision by ensuring high survivability for the planted trees.
Key Deliverables:
- Data collection, analysis, and interpretation
- Accuracy in data management
- Excellent analytics skills
- Quality reports
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor planted trees to ensure at least 85% survivability; monitor daily trees planted and share progress reports
- Collect data regularly to measure achievement against planted trees
- Conduct data quality checks on ELRF system inputs
- Support programme progress reporting, mid-term review, and final evaluation
- Identify lessons learned and develop case studies to capture qualitative outputs
- Provide advice to management on improving programme performance using M&E findings
- Assist with M&E training initiatives to strengthen ELRF capabilities
- Perform field visits to ensure data quality and accuracy
- Prepare progress reports on ongoing projects
- Design and implement baseline environmental and socio-economic impact report templates for each planting site
- Develop training tools for field team data collection
- Monitor equipment needs for field analysis
- Support analysis on new planting sites to inform issues and risk exposure reports
- Visit planting sites on rotation to ensure project tracking
- Maintain and regularly update all data sets, GIS mapping software, and communication tracking systems
- Assist forestry department with tracking the effectiveness of forest restoration techniques
- Provide key information and reports to the M&E Coordinator
