1. Compliance Officer II (NSSF Grade 8)

Job Summary

As a Compliance Officer II, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that employers comply with the NSSF Act. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates who are eager to build their careers in compliance and legal affairs within a respected state corporation. You will work closely under the supervision of a senior officer, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the NSSF’s mission of safeguarding social security for all Kenyans.

Key Responsibilities

As a Compliance Officer II, your main duties will include:

  • Inspection of Employer Records: Conducting thorough inspections to ensure compliance with the provisions of the NSSF Act.
  • Facilitation of Registrations: Assisting in the registration of new employers, employees, and voluntary contributors, in collaboration with the Registration Officer.
  • Records Management: Updating and maintaining zonal records, including employer lists, contribution registers, defaulters lists, penalties, and bounced cheques.
  • Monitoring Compliance: Actively monitoring and following up on employer compliance, ensuring timely and accurate contributions.
  • Reporting: Preparing detailed inspection and zonal reports to inform decision-making processes.
  • Handling Complaints: Addressing and resolving member and employer complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Validation of Returns: Validating employer returns and creating UPNs (Unique Personal Numbers) for cash receipting.

Qualifications and Skills

To be eligible for the position of Compliance Officer II, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Social Sciences, Business Administration, Law, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications is essential.

2. Fingerprints Officer II (NSSF Grade 8)

Job Summary

The Fingerprints Officer II is an entry-level position for recent graduates specializing in forensic science. You will be at the forefront of identifying and verifying NSSF members for benefits processing and membership card issuance. This role is vital in maintaining the integrity of our records and ensuring the accuracy of member identification.

Key Responsibilities

As a Fingerprints Officer II, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Classification and Filing: Classifying and filing fingerprint records based on their patterns and formations, ensuring systematic record-keeping.
  • Member Identification: Identifying NSSF members for the purpose of benefits processing and issuance of duplicate membership cards.
  • Record Amendments: Amending member records as necessary to reflect accurate information.
  • Lost Membership Number Retrieval: Conducting searches for members who have lost their membership numbers, providing efficient resolutions.
  • Fingerprint Formulae: Searching, extending, and providing alternatives to fingerprint formulae to ensure accurate identification.
  • Binder Maintenance: Mending and repairing fingerprint binders, ensuring they are in good condition for easy retrieval.
  • On-the-Job Training: Providing practical training for new Fingerprints Officer trainees.

Compliance with Chapter 6 of the Constitution

All successful candidates will be required to provide the following documents in compliance with Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, before the issuance of the offer letter:

  • Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
  • Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
  • Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
  • Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) Clearance Form.
  • Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) Clearance Certificate.
