Available Positions:

1. Non-Motor Underwriting Manager (Nairobi, Kenya)

Job Summary:
The Non-Motor Underwriting Manager will oversee underwriting operations for non-motor insurance products, including property, liability, and other specialized insurance lines. This role involves leading a team of underwriters, developing and executing underwriting strategies, ensuring compliance with company policies, and maintaining profitability while delivering exceptional service to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of underwriters, conducting regular performance reviews, and providing training and development opportunities.
  • Underwriting and Risk Assessment: Oversee the underwriting process for non-motor products, ensuring accurate pricing and thorough risk assessments. Develop and implement underwriting guidelines and best practices.
  • Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute underwriting strategies to meet business objectives. Monitor market trends and collaborate with other departments to develop new insurance products.
  • Compliance and Quality Control: Ensure all underwriting activities comply with regulatory standards and company policies. Conduct regular audits to maintain high standards of quality.
  • Customer and Stakeholder Relations: Build strong relationships with brokers, agents, and stakeholders, providing expert advice and support to sales teams.
  • Financial Performance: Monitor underwriting performance and profitability, preparing regular reports and implementing corrective actions as needed.

2. Assistant Manager – Human Resources (Nairobi, Kenya)

Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager – Human Resources will provide HR leadership and guidance, ensuring that AMACO’s workforce is aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. This role involves managing employee relations, performance management, and organizational development, while ensuring compliance with Kenya’s labor laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performance Management: Oversee employee performance management processes, including objective setting, performance reviews, and development plans.
  • Workforce Strategy: Collaborate with managers to develop a workforce strategy that aligns with company goals.
  • Employee Relations: Provide support to managers on staffing issues, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.
  • Compliance: Maintain knowledge of statutory requirements and ensure all HR activities comply with local labor laws.

3. Graduate Internship Program (Kenya)

Program Overview:
The Graduate Internship Program at AMACO is designed to nurture young talent and provide a platform for on-the-job training, career development, and professional growth. This program aims to help graduates gain practical experience and build their professional networks.

Internship Opportunities Available in the Following Departments:

  • Finance
  • Underwriting
  • Information & Communication Technology (ICT)
  • Marketing
  • Human Resources
  • Legal

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Insurance, Marketing, Human Resources, ICT, or Law (LLB).
  • Diploma in Insurance from the College of Insurance will also be considered.
  • Must be a Kenyan citizen aged 22-27 years.
  • Documentation required: Copies of National Identity card, NSSF, NHIF, and PIN certificate.
