Job Summary:

The Head of Junior School plays a critical role in managing the operations and educational programs of the junior school. The successful candidate will oversee curriculum development, staff management, and student performance, ensuring compliance with CBC (Competency-Based Curriculum) standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of CBC curriculum in the junior school.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of junior school teachers.
  • Ensure that teaching staff adhere to the school’s educational philosophy and values.
  • Implement policies that promote a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians regarding their children’s progress.
  • Work closely with the administration to plan budgets and resource allocations.
  • Ensure academic excellence through effective curriculum delivery, assessment, and teacher supervision.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an educational leadership role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CBC curriculum and teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage staff and implement school policies effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other curriculums such as IGCSE or IB is an added advantage.

2. Dean of Studies

Job Summary:

The Dean of Studies is responsible for managing all aspects of academic planning, instruction, and the delivery of education in compliance with CBC guidelines. The role focuses on ensuring a high-quality learning experience for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and provide guidance to faculty on curriculum matters.
  • Ensure that instructional methods align with the CBC framework.
  • Collaborate with department heads to review and enhance teaching strategies.
  • Oversee examination procedures, grading, and reporting systems.
  • Provide academic leadership in developing school-wide initiatives for student achievement.
  • Ensure continuous professional development for teaching staff.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a senior academic role.
  • Strong understanding of CBC curriculum implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning sessions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject or Education.
  • Proven teaching experience in CBC or similar curriculums.
