1. Job Title: Tutor – 6 Positions

Purpose of the Job

Provide a range of appropriate methods of teaching and assessment to demonstrate clinical learning opportunities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures as part of a formal curriculum and host tutorials and other small group teaching.
  • Engage in the assessment of students and assist with the preparation of clinical case material.
  • Utilize a range of appropriate methods of teaching and assessment to demonstrate clinical learning opportunities.
  • Provide direct assistance in the use of equipment, learning objects, and materials needed for student success.
  • Instruct and supervise students in the programmes of the College in the relevant clinical subject area.
  • Provide academic counseling and advice to students.
  • Set tests and evaluate practical skills.
  • Prepare timetables and instructional materials.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Tutor.
  • Proficiency in MS Office packages.
  • Strong analytical and result-oriented skills.
  • High standards of integrity and ethical practice.

2. Job Title: Clinical Instructor

Purpose of the Job

To instruct and supervise students in the programmes of the College in the relevant clinical subject area.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engage in professional development activities to improve tutorial skills and cultural competence.
  • Provide direct assistance in the use of equipment, learning objects, and materials needed for student success.
  • Instruct and supervise students in the relevant clinical subject area.
  • Recognize different learning styles and preferences.
  • Create a professional and welcoming environment respecting students’ diverse cultures, language skills, and experiences.
  • Engage in the assessment of students and assist with the preparation of clinical case material.
  • Utilize a range of appropriate methods of teaching and assessment to demonstrate clinical learning opportunities.
  • Provide academic counseling and advice to students.
  • Liaise with other tutors and staff in other academic and clinical departments to ensure integrated delivery of all courses.
  • Teach, mentor, and evaluate students in clinical areas.
  • Assist section heads with planning and implementation of section activities.
  • Prepare annual mentorship schedules.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Diploma in Nursing.
  • Higher Diploma in Nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a clinical area.
  • Proficiency in MS Office packages.
  • Strong analytical and result-oriented skills.
  • High standards of integrity and ethical practice.

3. Job Title: Deputy Principal

Purpose of the Job

Assist in supporting the monitoring and evaluation of teaching and learning across the college and contribute to college self-evaluation and the development of improvement plans.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Principal in developing a college environment supportive of learning and high achievement.
  • Assist the Principal in developing the education aims and objectives of the college and devising strategies to achieve them.
  • Assist the Principal in coordinating the college plan and policies for approval by the Board.
  • Assist the Principal in promoting ongoing personal development and in-service training, and in identifying staffing needs.
  • Assist the Principal in day-to-day management, including planning and overseeing daily timetabling of classes.
  • Assist the Principal in matters of student discipline and in the promotion of good order and general supervision between classes.
  • Develop and provide appropriate learning and curriculum programs and methods of instruction.
  • Promote effective teaching and learning practices across the college.
  • Assist in the development of the school curriculum and assessment policies.
  • Develop and implement systems for recording individual students’ progress and ensure parents are informed regularly.
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of teaching and learning and contribute to college self-evaluation and development plans.
  • Organize observation and supervision of educational activities.
  • Observe and assess educational processes and outcomes.
  • Consult and advise tutors on curriculum implementation.
  • Orient new tutors.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing (added advantage).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Senior Tutor or in a managerial capacity.
  • Proficiency in MS Office packages.
  • Strong analytical and result-oriented skills.
  • High standards of integrity and ethical practice.

4. Job Title: Librarian

Purpose of the Job

Manage college library services.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Undertake routine library duties including filing cards, recording incoming publications, and checking against invoices.
  • Perform routine cataloguing and classifying.
  • Issue library materials.
  • Maintain general library records.
  • Prepare library exhibits.
  • Manage hospital and medical school library services.
  • Index and abstract library materials.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Diploma in Library Services from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical and result-oriented skills.
  • High standards of integrity and ethical practice.
  • Proficiency in MS Office packages.

5. Job Title: College Matron

Purpose of the Job

Maintain the college hostel in line with the highest quality and hygiene standards to ensure student comfort.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and conduct daily detailed inspection of dormitory rooms, dining, public areas, back of the dormitory, and grounds.
  • Ensure compliance with college standards of excellence and health/sanitation regulations.
  • Coordinate necessary repairs with the hospital maintenance department.
  • Assist in monitoring and controlling housekeeping procedures.
  • Assign cleaning and housekeeping duties to students and inspect work for cleanliness standards.
  • Ensure dormitories are well-equipped with necessary equipment and appliances.
  • Ensure the safety of persons and property within the hostel by applying institution regulations and providing information on appliance use.
  • Ensure students comply with occupational safety and health policy and observe Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor student welfare, including checking that the college diet is balanced and well-prepared.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Diploma in Hospitality Management/Housekeeping from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience.
  • High standards of integrity and ethical practice.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capacity to supervise students.
  • Proficiency in MS Office packages.

6. Job Title: ICT Officer

Purpose of the Job

Provide user support and customer service on the College supported computer applications and platforms as well as troubleshoot problems and advise on appropriate actions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide teaching and orientation to new students on existing technology.
  • Provide network access to all staff and students.
  • Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly backups for the processes management systems and ensure safe custody of backup media.
  • Implement approved data management system job requests as per users’ requirements.
  • Organize and facilitate training for the data management system users.
  • Develop training materials for any acquired management system and basic computer usage.
  • Oversee all hardware and software installation and network connectivity to all computer workstations.
  • Ensure timely repair and replacement of college IT systems.
  • Install and configure operating systems to an agreed standard.
  • Compile support center technical documentation, guidelines, and procedures and disseminate to users.
  • Participate in training activities.
  • Produce necessary reports/statistics on system performance.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ progressive working experience.
  • Holder of any ICT license (added advantage).
  • Proficiency in hardware and software troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
  • Strong analytical and result-oriented skills.
  • High standards of integrity and ethical practice.
