Position: Accountant/Teller (REF: ACC/T/08/23)

Do you have a knack for finance and impeccable attention to detail? The Accountant/Teller role at CCBI’s FOSA (Front Office Service Activity) could be your ideal opportunity. As the key player in accounting and teller functions, you’ll be accountable for a range of operational responsibilities. Reporting directly to the Senior Accountant, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of our Sacco.

Job Type: Contract – Two (2) Years

Responsibilities at a Glance:

At CCBI, you’ll take on diverse responsibilities that keep the wheels of our financial operations turning smoothly. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll be doing:

  1. Cash Management: Handle incoming cash from Treasury and facilitate over-the-counter payments.
  2. Account Management: Register Cash Office Current accounts, Debit Cards, and Mobile services.
  3. ATM Expertise: Manage ATM operations, including issuing ATM cards.
  4. Transaction Reconciliation: Ensure accurate daily reconciliation of teller and Cash Office transactions.
  5. Operational Efficiency: Oversee seamless cash office and ATM operations.
  6. ATM Card Management: Register, process, disburse, and manage ATM cards and PINs.
  7. Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of cash office transactions, including reports.
  8. Reports Generation: Prepare comprehensive cash office reports for audits and administration.
  9. Budget Involvement: Play an active role in the cash office facility’s budgeting process.
  10. Regulatory Adherence: Follow IFRS, Sacco Finance policy, and relevant laws/regulations.
  11. Team Collaboration: Contribute to your team’s success by undertaking duties assigned by your Supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience:

Your qualifications and experience will form the foundation of your success in this role. We’re looking for individuals who possess:

  • Education: A Kenyan citizen with a bachelor’s degree in Co-operative Management, Banking, Accounting, Business, or Economics from a recognized University.
  • Professional Qualification: Final CPA (K) qualification.
  • Software Proficiency: Working experience with MS Dynamics Navision.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a teller or Accounts Assistant.
