Key Responsibilities
As an Intern with the Food Initiative team, you will:
- Support innovative solutions for improving nutrition security using interdisciplinary approaches, including renewable energy, agriculture, and data science.
- Review and synthesize literature on topics such as finance, school meals, agribusiness value chains, and clean cooking technologies to inform program strategies.
- Assist in designing and implementing programs for nourishing regenerative school meals while engaging with grantees and stakeholders.
- Provide technical support in monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning activities related to food systems transformation.
- Document field visits and synthesize reports from interactions with grantees and community stakeholders.
- Participate in strategy meetings, capturing actionable insights and next steps.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve high-impact outcomes in food system transformation, energy access, and poverty reduction.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Requirements:
- Enrollment in a graduate program in areas such as global health, nutrition, agricultural economics, environmental science, business, or related fields.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
- Proficiency in technical writing with attention to detail.
- Interest in nonprofit work and experience in advocacy or policy work is a plus.
- Proactive and innovative mindset with the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
