Role Overview
As the Farm Manager for Elite Plants, you will oversee the daily operations of our propagation unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality rose plants. You will lead strategic initiatives to expand the company’s growth, improve profitability, and maintain strong customer relationships. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, fostering employee engagement, and implementing innovative crop production practices.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations and Production
- Manage daily operations to ensure timely fulfillment of orders and supply of high-quality plants.
- Implement sustainable and innovative crop production practices to optimize yield and plant quality.
Strategic Planning and Growth
- Develop and execute strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
- Anticipate future challenges and devise actionable plans to address them effectively.
Financial Management
- Maintain budgets and optimize expenses, ensuring alignment with AAA Growers’ financial objectives.
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost-saving measures as necessary.
Policy and Process Management
- Establish and update company policies and processes to reflect new developments.
- Ensure all procedures are well-documented and accessible to employees.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of employees to maximize productivity and professional growth.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, ensuring high employee satisfaction and engagement.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential Requirements
- Educational Background: Degree in Horticulture, Floriculture, or Agriculture.
- Experience: 7–10 years in a propagation unit in a managerial capacity.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
