This Transport Manager role is pivotal in driving improvement and transformation in transport operations across Africa. You will support operations, partner with transport providers, and add significant value to each market in the region. Key Responsibilities

As the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the following key areas:

Safety, Quality, and Compliance

  • Ensure a ZERO harm environment in Logistics by adhering to the Diageo Safety First Initiatives Program (SFIP) to prevent severe and fatal incidents.

Customer Service and Operational Efficiency

  • Collaborate with the Transport Africa teams and 3PL to deliver a safe, compliant, and efficient operation for materials, finished goods, and returnable glass.

Cost and Productivity Savings

  • Deliver a cost-effective transportation service within budget, focusing on operational savings year on year.

Logistics Excellence

  • Lead and motivate the logistics market teams to meet regional requirements by providing strategic transport knowledge and understanding of African dynamics to ensure continuous improvements.

Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications and skills:

  • Extensive experience: Several years as a transport manager at a senior leadership level in road freight within a manufacturing company, managing multiple sites across different countries.
  • Transport management in Africa: Proven experience in managing transport operations specific to the African market.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Demonstrable ability to engage and align stakeholders behind strategic plans and win support for implementing change with transport suppliers.
  • Influential leadership: Ability to lead in environments where influence is more important than formal authority.
  • Supply chain knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end supply chain and customer collaboration.
