Job Description

As the Quality Improvement Officer, you will report directly to the Risk and Quality Improvement Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and enhance the implementation of quality improvement initiatives, ensuring that all systems and processes meet best practice standards.

Responsibilities

1. Leadership and Direction

  • Support the implementation of the Quality Improvement Program across the hospital.
  • Provide professional advice on operational excellence.
  • Plan and prioritize to ensure effective quality and risk management throughout the organization.

2. Performance and Process Improvement (PPI)

  • Coordinate with department and service leaders to support quality improvement measures.
  • Facilitate the development of standards, policies, and procedures for quality improvement.

3. Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Implement frameworks for quality improvement monitoring and evaluation.
  • Develop and use monitoring and audit tools for quality aspects within the hospital.
  • Lead and support the monitoring and evaluation team.

4. Data Analysis, Validation, Benchmarking, and Reporting

  • Implement data analysis and validation policies and procedures.
  • Develop and execute data collection and improvement strategies.
  • Support departments in analyzing quality data and participate in benchmarking activities.

5. Coaching, Mentoring, and Training

  • Mentor and develop teams on quality improvement strategies.
  • Organize and participate in regular quality improvement trainings.

6. Research and Innovation

  • Engage in quality improvement research to ensure alignment with best practices.
  • Innovate and recommend solutions to address quality and patient safety challenges.

7. Regulatory and Accreditation

  • Participate in AMUA and JCI Accreditation standard implementation and act as the JCI Survey Coordinator.
  • Contribute to ISO standards and KAIZEN implementation processes.

8. Risk Management

  • Develop and execute an effective risk management program.
  • Engage in risk management activities within designated departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
  • Basic Certification in Healthcare Quality.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a clinical or quality improvement role within a hospital setting.
  • Valid practicing license.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
