As a Theatre Nurse, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to patients undergoing medical and surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities

Patient Care

• Provide holistic patient care, addressing physical, mental, and social wellbeing.
• Respond to emergencies promptly, alerting senior nurses and doctors when necessary.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.

Monitoring and Assistance

• Monitor vital signs and hydration status, conducting diagnostic tests as required.
• Assist in surgical operations, preparing patients for procedures and supporting doctors as needed.

Waste Management and Customer Care

• Dispose of clinical and non-clinical waste according to MP Shah Hospital’s IPC guidelines.
• Educate patients and their families about treatments and care plans, addressing their questions and concerns.

Liaison and Coordination

• Collaborate with other medical staff to ensure comprehensive patient care and effective treatment plans.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Registered Nurse (RN/RM/KRCHN/BSN) with a valid licensure from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Higher Diploma in Perioperative Nursing is preferred.
• Basic Life Support Certification required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ nursing experience, including 2 years in an operating room environment.
• Competencies:
  • In-depth understanding of safety guidelines.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills.
  • Teamwork and leadership abilities.
  • Strong clinical judgment and quick reaction times.
  • Ability to recognize clinical patterns.
