Job Purpose

The Outbound Collections Agent role at Nimble Group is crucial in maximizing debt recovery and ensuring the profitability of the organization. The primary focus of this role is to engage with customers who have arrears on their accounts and successfully negotiate payment arrangements. This role demands a high level of communication skills, negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of the collections process.


Key Responsibilities

1. Collections Management

  • Achieve Collection Targets: The agent is responsible for ensuring that the allocated collection targets are met consistently.
  • Productivity Targets: Meeting the allocated productivity targets is essential, ensuring that daily and monthly goals are achieved.
  • Effective Communication: Utilize effective communication and negotiation techniques to secure commitments to pay (Promises to Pay) from customers.
  • Daily Follow-ups: Conduct daily follow-ups on the progress of Promises to Pay and the respective statuses to optimize collections.
  • Product Knowledge: Ensure a full understanding of the product/s being worked on, which is crucial for effective communication and negotiation.

2. Quality Management

  • Compliance: Understand, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to the collections process to ensure full compliance.
  • Script Adherence: Strictly adhere to the collections call scripts to maintain consistency and professionalism in communication.
  • Accurate Record Keeping: Ensure that all debtor information held on record is up-to-date and accurate at all times. Proper maintenance of accounts on the collections system is vital.
  • Empathy and Professionalism: Interact with customers in a manner that shows empathy, tact, and professionalism.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 6 months of working experience within an outbound debt collections environment, outbound sales environment, or outbound customer service environment. Proven evidence of past performance is required.
  • Criminal Record: A clear criminal record is mandatory.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Computer Literacy: The candidate must be computer literate and comfortable using various software and tools related to collections.
  • Collections System Knowledge: Understanding or working knowledge of a collections system is advantageous but not mandatory.
