Introduction

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Business Coach to deliver on-the-ground coaching and business support services to enterprises under impactful regional programs. This position is critical to fostering the success and sustainability of MSMEs across Kenya.
Locations: The role will be based in Kakuma, Lodwar, Marsabit, Isiolo, and Samburu.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Coaching & Support: Collaborate with beneficiary businesses to enhance their marketing, production, and sourcing strategies.
- Strategic Market Linkages: Identify and develop market placement strategies to enable MSMEs to scale effectively.
- Financial & Business Management: Assist businesses in implementing robust financial and operational structures to ensure sustainable growth.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and evaluate MSME progress, ensuring they meet their growth objectives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with county authorities, trade associations, and development partners to facilitate success.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure businesses operate ethically and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Capacity Building & Mentorship: Provide training and mentorship to strengthen MSMEs’ internal structures and promote operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Management, Economics, Sales, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 4+ years of experience in business coaching, working within digital value chains, or MSME development.
- Certifications: Professional qualifications like CPA, IHRM, CFA, or KIM are an added advantage.
- Membership: Affiliation with MSK, Kenya Institute of Management, or other relevant bodies is preferred.
- Key Competencies:
- Strong financial and risk management skills, particularly in business modeling.
- Proven ability to engage diverse stakeholders, including government and development partners.
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Highly adaptable, innovative, and results-oriented.
