Key Responsibilities
As a Junior QA Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring software quality by performing the following tasks:
Mobile & Web Application Testing
- Conduct manual testing of mobile (Android) and web applications to identify defects, inconsistencies, and usability issues.
- Create and execute test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios.
- Report and track defects, collaborating with developers for timely resolution.
- Perform regression testing to maintain product stability during new releases.
Automation Development and Execution
- Develop, maintain, and execute automation test cases within CI pipelines.
- Automate API tests using tools like Postman.
- Validate test scenarios, ensuring data integrity and optimal response times.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless feature integration.
Test Documentation
- Prepare comprehensive test plans, cases, and reports.
- Maintain thorough documentation for test processes, results, and issues.
- Continuously refine testing procedures and documentation standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to align testing efforts with business objectives.
- Review requirement documents, offering constructive feedback before development.
- Actively participate in Agile/Scrum meetings, sharing insights on product quality.
Test Environment Setup
- Configure mobile devices, emulators, and simulators for testing purposes.
- Organize and maintain testing equipment for optimal efficiency.
Product Support
- Assist the Customer Success (CS) and underwriting teams in troubleshooting customer issues.
- Create JIRA tasks for engineers and ensure these issues are prioritized in the sprint/backlog.
- Collaborate with product owners/managers to monitor issue resolution progress.
Skills and Qualifications
Technical Skills
- 2+ years of experience in mobile and web application testing.
- Proficient in API testing with hands-on experience using Postman.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with manual and automated testing tools.
- Familiarity with programming languages like JavaScript (preferred).
Soft Skills
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
